Overview

ISMail-Web adds the following web-based features to ISMail Pro:

  • Webmail
  • ISMail server management
  • ISMail domain managerment,
  • ISMail account management
  • ISMail account creation

Webmail provides web-based access to the ISMail accounts on any local ISMail domain. With Webmail, email can be accessed from anywhere without special email client programs.

The ISMail server management functions closely parallel those available in the Windows interface to ISMail (a.k.a. ISMail Configuration Manager). Refer to the ISMail Pro User Guide for details about these operations.

The ISMail domain management interface allows ISMail domain owners to control domain-level configuration settings without requiring access to the server management interface. Domain management accounts can be created under server management when a new domain is added to ISMail, and then transferred to the domain manager for ongoing domain control and maintenance.

The ISMail account management interface allows ISMail users to access and change their individual account configuration settings without intervention from a domain manager.

The ISMail account creation function allows users to automatically create new ISMail accounts. This function may be enabled or disabled by a domain manager.

Requirements

ISMail Pro must be installed prior to installing ISMail-Web.

ISMail-Web uses port 80 by default for web access. This port can be changed using the Windows-based ISMail Manager interface prior to running ISMail-Web (i.e. prior to the 'Start Webmail' operation).
