ISMail EP Email Hosting

ISMail EP can be easily and efficiently deployed on Windows 2000/XP/2003-based web and email hosting platforms.

ISMail EP was designed for hosting applications, featuring three (3) levels of system management (server manager, domain manager, and user account manager) to allow for global administrative control, domain delegation, and end-user account management.

Other hosting-related features include:

• account quotas (server/domain/account-level)
• alternate ports (e.g. supports port 587 message submission)
• anti-spam filtering (server/domain/account-level)
• automated account setup
• autoresponders
• backup/restore (up to 4GB per mailbox file)
• IP-based controls (domains appear as 'private' servers)
• multiple recipient delivery (for newsletters)
• relaying (primary/secondary)
• Webmail customization

Virtual hosting of multiple domains on a single IP address is transparently supported.

System Management

Server Management

Windows and web-based server management are used to setup, configure, control, and monitor operation of the mail system. Server manager accounts have access to all operating and configuration parameters, and full control of the mail system.

Server managers control:

• account quotas for the entire server
• authentication (trusted IP, SMTP authentication)
• anti-virus scanners
• domain setup
• message filtering (enable/disable for entire system)
• connection-level access (trusted/blocked IPs)
• connection-level filters (DNS checking, RBLs, greylist)
• server-level anti-spam message filters (blacklist/whitelist, collaborative, content)

Domain Management

Domain management may be delegated to domain owners using domain manager accounts.

Domain managers can check server status, and control the mail options for a specific domain. They can:

• setup, modify, or disable user accounts
• establish account quotas for the entire domain or for individual user accounts (within any pre-defined limits for the domain)
• enable users to create their own accounts
• create default anti-spam message filters for accounts

Domain managers do not have access to global server configuration and can not stop or start the mail servers.

User Account Management

Users have access to their own individual account information, including:

• passwords
• mail forwarding address lists
• autoresponders
• whitelists / blacklists
• anti-spam message filters

Separately, users can also download messages from other POP3 mail accounts through the Webmail system.

Webmail Configuration

The Webmail login page banner and domain selection (all or single domain only) are configurable for each domain.

Additional webmail configuration is available after a user has logged in.

Virtual Hosting (Multiple Domains)

Through virtual hosting, ISMail EP supports multiple domains on a single IP address.

To use virtual hosting, email client programs must be configured with the complete account name for the Incoming mail server (e.g. 'user@domain.com', and not just 'user'). Webmail is automatically setup for this on system installation.
