Upgrading ISMail

Instructions for downloading and installing ISMail upgrades are given below.

The latest version of ISMail can be downloaded directly from the InstantServers website, www.instantservers.com. Go to the "Downloads" area and click on the download link to start downloading. A pop-up screen will appear which will request that you save the application to the default folder, e.g. "C:\My  Documents." Click on Save. The download can take up to several minutes over a DSL line.

Installing an Upgrade

ISMail can be upgraded by installing a newer version. The upgrade screens will allow the existing ISMail configuration settings to be used in the upgraded version.

ISMail is upgraded by executing the downloaded file. From the Windows^® Start menu, select Programs, then click on Windows^® Explorer. In Windows^® Explorer, go to the default folder (e.g. "C:\My Documents"). Click on the ismxxx.exe file, which will  unpack and install ISMail (the "xxx" is the version of ISMail which was downloaded. So, "ism100.exe" or "ism100.zip" would be V1.0.0). Wait until the InstallShield unpacking operation has completed. The Installer will ask if you wish to upgrade. Click on Yes. Read the Software License Agreement, and click on Yes if you wish to accept the Agreement and continue. The Installer will ask if you wish to keep your existing ISMail configuration. If so, click on Yes. The Installer will then prompt you to uninstall the existing version and install the upgrade. For each prompt, click on OK. The existing installation path will automatically be used. The program files will be copied and an icon will be installed on  your desktop. Wait until the hourglass disappears, indicating that installation is complete. Then, click on Finish.

The upgrade is now complete.

Note: you do not need to reboot your machine.
