Starting ISMail

To start the ISMail program:

  • Double-click on the ISMail desktop program icon,

or

  • Click Start->Programs->ISMail->ISMail Manager

The ISMail Manager program icon will appear in the lower-right portion of the screen (notification area of system tray), indicating ISMail is running. From the ISMail Manager, ISMail can be configured, and the mail servers started and stopped.

Using ISMail Manager to Start Mail Servers (automatic)

To enable or disable automatically starting the ISMail servers:

  1. Right-click the ISMail Manager program icon located in the lower-right portion of the screen (notification area of system tray), and select 'AutoStart Servers'.
  2. Exit and re-start ISMail to use AutoStart Servers.

If AutoStart Servers is checked, the servers will automatically be started with ISMail. If unchecked, the servers must be started manually using the ISMail Manager.

Exiting ISMail Manager

To exit the ISMail Manager:

  1. Right-click the ISMail Manager program icon located in the lower-right portion of the screen (notification area of system tray), then select 'Exit'.

Note: all mail servers that are not being run as Windows Services will be stopped when the ISMail Manager is exited.
