Backup
The ISMail backup system allows one or more backups of the mail system to be scheduled for execution.
ISMail backups may be scheduled to occur on one or more days of the week at a specific time of day. Backups may include system and account configuration information, account messages, or both. Backups may be done for all mail domains, or only for a particular domain.
Important: the ISMail SMTP server must be running in order for backups to be performed.
Scheduling or Changing Backups:
To schedule or change one or more weekly backups:
- On the 'Backup' tab, select the 'Backup Active' checkbox.
- In the 'When to Backup' area, select one or more days of the week using the corresponding checkboxes.
- Choose the time time of day to perform the backup in 'at' menus in the 'When to Backup' area.
- In the 'What to Backup' area, select 'System and Account Configuration', 'Account Message' or both. To backup account messages for the entire system, choose 'All Domains'. To backup only those account messages corresponding to a particular domain, choose 'Domain' and select the domain name.
- In the 'Where to Backup' box, browse to the directory into which the backup information will be stored.
- Click 'Apply'.
Make sure that the SMTP server is running in order for the backup to be performed.
Cancelling Backups:
To cancel a backup:
- On the 'Backup' tab, uncheck the 'Backup Active' checkbox.
- Click 'Apply.
