MiniPortal EP Manager
MiniPortal EP Manager is a Windows program used to control and run the MiniPortal EP servers (i.e. web server, FTP server). It is used to start and stop MiniPortal EP from the desktop, and indicates MiniPortal EP's status.
MiniPortal EP Manager can only be run from the server's desktop. However, once the MiniPortal EP web server is running, the MiniPortal EP Administrator can be used to control MiniPortal EP through a web browser.
Starting MiniPortal EP Manager
MiniPortal EP Manager can be started in any of these ways:
- Double-click the InstantServers MiniPortal EP desktop icon
- Use Start->Programs->MiniPortal->MiniPortal Manager
- Select the 'Run MiniPortal on Powerup' option in the MiniPortal EP Manager popup menu
Using MiniPortal EP Manager
MiniPortal EP Manager displays an 'exclamation point' icon in the status notification area of the taskbar (lower right-hand portion of the screen). The icon appears red with the MiniPortal EP servers are stopped, and green when the MiniPortal EP web server is running (green means that the MiniPortal EP Administrator can be used).
Rolling the mouse over the MiniPortal EP Manager icon causes the IP address(es) of the machine to be displayed.
If the right mouse button is clicked while pointing at the icon, a popup menu appears with the following options:
- Manage Servers (grayed out when clicked)
- MiniPortal Administrator: open a web browser and access the MiniPortal EP Administrator
- Exit: close the MiniPortal EP Manager (exits servers if not run as using Windows Services)
- Help: access help information
- About: show basic product information
MiniPortal EP Manager Log
General MiniPortal EP status information is recorded in the system log file, 'mplog.txt', located in the installation directory (default: C:\Program Files\InstantServers\MiniPortal).
