Upgrading from ISMail Webmail Versions 1.4.x to 1.5.x

To upgrade ISMail-Webmail plugin from versions 1.4.x to 1.5.x:

• Download the ISMail-Webmail 1.5.x plugin from 'Download' link
• Stop all ISMail mail and Webmail servers
• Exit ISMail Manager program
• Install ISMail-Webmail 1.5.x plugin
• Start ISMail Manager program
• On the 'Webmail' tab, set Webmail port (if different from port 80)
• On the 'Services' tab, install Webmail as a Windows Service, if desired
• Restart all ISMail mail and Webmail servers

Important Upgrade Notes:

• Customizations: Webmail GUI changes (e.g. login screen logo) will be lost and must be reinstalled as described in the Webmail FAQ. Note that the Webmail graphic image size has changed.
• System: administrator should delete all Webmail session files prior to user login. Session files are named 'sess_...' and are located in the ../ismail/webmail/squirrelmail/tmp directory
• Users:
  • Should delete all web browser temporary files and re-start web browser prior to using Webmail 1.5.x
  • Login to Webmail 1.5.x is different from 1.4.x. The domain pull-down box has been removed. Use the domain URL for login (e.g. http://domain.com/webmail). If the domain URL is not used (e.g. due to mail hosting configuration), another URL can be used BUT the entire user name with domain must be entered to login (i.e. enter 'user@domain.com' and not just 'user')
  • Some mailbox names may have changed (e.g. 'Sent' is now 'Sent Items', and 'Draft' is now 'Drafts')

Note for systems with MiniPortal:

The MiniPortal-PHP plugin must be installed to run ISMail-Webmail 1.5.x since both MiniPortal's web server and MiniPortal's PHP are used for Webmail. If PHP has been installed and Webmail fails, remove and re-install the ISMail-Webmail 1.5.x plugin.
